I like it a lot. But I've always seen it pronounced Leh-nah. It's greek. It's also pronounced like this on "The sisterhood of the traveling pants". I believe it's a deviation of Elena. I would actually never think Lee-nah...

And FWIW, my beloved grandmother's name was Leta... always loved that, too. Unusual but not too weird. Don't know if I have the guts to use it, though.

I love this name! I absolultely would pronounce it Lee-na. We are naming our soon-to-be-DD Madelyn, and my neighbor (a little old Italian lady with a very thick accent) started referring to the baby as "Madelena". Over the last few months, she has shortened that into just Lena, and I think it's adorable! She asks me every day how baby Lena is doing, and I think it may be the perfect nn for our LO!
I like it! However, as a short side story, this was my grandmother's name and she HATED it. She went by Margaret her whole life (which was her middle name) and she told my mother that in no uncertain terms was she allowed to name me or my sister Lena.
Re: WDYT of Lena???
Yes, Leen-a, like Lena Horne.
I like it. I think its one of the classic classy names that is underused.
I think it's lovely and underused.

I was going to say this. I like the name.
Mommy's little helper
I like it but I prefer the spelling Lina.
