I have the sunshine kids radian, and I *hate* the latch system on it, and feeding the belt through it (front or back). I had no idea a seat could be so complicated to install! I thought the alpha omega sucked to install. I love the Nautilus, it's SO easy to install!!
Anyway, no real reason for telling you this. I kinda skimmed your post and now I can't remember if you said you were maybe getting a radian, or had one. But both our older DC's are in the Nautilus's.
Re: hiker
I am really avoiding the Radian because of all the crazy install stuff I've seen talked about. . . especially rear facing, but it would be one of the few options to keep him rearfacing if he hit 35 lbs. before age 2.
We have an extra Nautilus. I think I can get Leif *close* to 2 rearfacing based on his current weight/growth rate and then he can just use the Nautilus. . . it's been great for DD.
I swear I'm not a crazy "extended RF to age 5" person, but I am a total rule follower. I RF Gretchen to 21 months and was nervous when I turned her because it was so *different*. Also nervous when I first put her in a booster (but she is just as much a rule-follower as me, so she does awesome in a booster).
Love big boys, but they create trouble in this extended RF game
And see, mine are just opposite. Gretchen didn't care at all. Took long road trips with ease. Great car sleeper.
Leif is generally unhappy in the car and a terrible car sleeper. At least he has his sister. His new game is to throw cereal at her. Pisses her off, but it's hillarious.

LMAO!!! Colin tries stealing Jake's sippy cup out of his holder...which makes Jake yell, then Colin is mad because he doesn't get a mcdonalds smoothie of his own. LOL stinkin' kids. Always causing drama.
