NBR: What do you use on your hardwood floors?

The rental property we just bought has hardwood floors on one side, and they could use some love. We don't have time to have them refinished. What do you use to make them shiny? The tenant moving in does not have pets or kids, so the product does not need to be "green".

TIA!!!

  • white vinegar and water is my go to.

I've also used Murphy's Wood Oil Soap

  • To make them shiny and glossy, clean them however you normally would (ours were pre-finished so we use water based cleaners like vinegar & water or whatever), then get some Bona Restore solution - you squirt it on the floors and "mop", and it makes them look nice and shiny :)

  • The guy who refinished our floors recommended Bona, which we've been using and works well.  He did not recommend vinegar as it can affect the finish over time.
  • Bona is great, but vinegar and water works just as well.  Both were recommended by our floor guy.

  • Another rec for Bona.
  • Thanks guys! Where do you find Bona at? I was just at Target, and they only had Pledge and Old English. I bought the Pledge stuff, but it didn't do much...

I've seen it at Ace and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Another rec for Bona....sometimes Costco has it, too.

Another vote for Bona.  Just saw it at Lowe's this weekend.
