fenugreek?

I've noticed that my supply is slowly dwindling down, but it could be that totally I suck at drinking water.  Plus being back to work full time, I try to pump at least 2 times during the day, but might need to try for a third time...Just haven't figured out the timing with it.

But I have a few questions about fenugreek...

Have you really noticed an increase in milk production? Like what kind of numbers/ounce differences...

And- How long was it before you started seeing the difference?

I bought a bottle from WalMart last night and it says take 1 pill, 3-6 times daily.  I'm only on my third pill and other than a few burps that tasted like maple syrup- no other significant side effects... Any others?

My DH told me that I smell like maple syrup when I take it!! I forgot about that!haha

No other side effects. I noticed a HUGE difference in supply. I went from being able to pump 2-4 oz total, to 6-8 oz per side so 12-16 oz total. But I also really increased my water intake.

It's the hardest thing to do, but I think drinking more water is the best thing you can do for your supply!

My LC said to take 2 capsules three times a day.  I didn't have any side effects.  I also didn't notice any difference, but based on previous posts on fenugreek, I seem to be the exception rather than the rule.

I take 3 capsules 2x a day and I've noticed a difference within 3-4 days.  I have some weird burps too, but it's better if I take them with food- I just usually forget until an hour+ after I've eaten

I was taking 2 pills 3x daily.  It did not increase my supply.  It did give me the runs and lots of gas though.  Unfortunately, I consider it a waste of $26 to Whole Foods.

I've been taking it for 3 days now and have not noticed any difference in my milk production.  But on a brighter note, I have been blessed to not have any side effects.
