Ergo *lurker w/ question*

Can I use the Ergo around the house? Obviously, the answer will be yes. But I'm wondering if I can use it hands free, like to do different house chores? My step sister bought it for me, but I'm wondering if I'll need something else in the newborn stage..

  • Any carrier would allow you to be hands-free. (I think???)

I started using the Ergo when DD was about 3 weeks old, when she outgrew our Ellaroo- she got too long and I didn't have enough fabric to support her head with the Ellaroo. Anyway, the Ergo was great for us, both inside and outside the house. Just make sure you use the infant insert until your baby has good head support.

Here's me wearing DD in the Ergo to cook Thanksgiving dinner when she was about 6 months old:

  • To use the Ergo with a newborn, you need the infant insert. The Ergo is definitely doable, but my baby is only 2 months and I still love my Moby and ring sling the best! However, Moby is hot in the summer, so I only use it at home and the linen RS when we are out.
