Beach Tent Recs

Hi all!

I'm looking for a pop up tent to take on the beach that is TRULY pop up! Anyone have a good one they like? If there is assembly, I'm looking for one that you really think is easy.

TIA!

  • We have this one from One Step Ahead.  We used it on the beach all week, and now use it in the back yard for her water table.

The inside stays remarkably cool, and the large sand pockets for the beach are great in keeping it stable.

  • Can I ask how big it was when folded?

We're going to the beach in 2 months but we're flying, so it'll have to fit in our luggage.

  • It's big, and bulky, but not too heavy.  Probably 4.5 ft. tall and 8 in. wide.  Definitely not something that I would buy and plan to fly with.  (I may consider it now that I already own it).

Are you looking for something for all of you, or just your baby?

For family, maybe consider something like this.

For just baby, I would get a Peapod Plus which we have and used as her travel bed while on vacation.  For our DD we just knew that there was no way she was going to say in a tent by herself, so we went with the larger option.

  • I love our kidco peapod (there is also a plus version, but I'm not sure how much better it is). It folds down very small and then springs open when you take the safety off. You do have to blow up the mattress with the pump included, but that takes about 5 minutes. It's fairly large when opened and my DD seems to be very comfortable in it. The outer shell does provide UV protection.
