I have a papasan or "bowl chair" that is my favorite chair, but doesn't coordinate with either our new living room or theater room...I'd like to use it in the nursery as I find it easy to curl up in and even doze off and would seem to be a good cuddle chair.
I don't know anyone whos done anything other than a glider or rocker in their nursery-- neither of which do I find comfortable or like the look of (that I can find) can anyone see any reason NOT to use the bowl chair?
Re: Papasan in Nursery?
This. We had one in our bedroom and it was hard to get out of and I have long legs. I think it might be a pain when you have a baby in your arms.
If you plan on using the nursery to BF, then this chair would be impractical. It would be really hard to nurse. You should really be sitting straight up when nursing for it to be most comfortable for you and the baby (especially in the beginning). I hardly nurse in my glider now, but when she was a newborn, it was a Godsend.
I also agree with PP, it would be hard to get out of the chair while holding an infant.
I can def see how it could be a cuddle comfy chair. My concern would be getting in and out of it after having had a baby - and while holding baby. Also we had one from Pier 1 and the darn thing would always move around trying to get of it... the bowl part that is. I could see that being a issue with a infant in your hands trying to get up.
