Triple Strollers and another triplet question

I know I have asked this before with out much help. I need to start getting things priced and people want to start buying us. But I have no idea what stroller to get. I can't even think about the Peg Prego 1000 for stroller and 250 each for 3 car seats just cant afford that anytime soon. So what other strollers have used and liked? Or should we just do a double and wear a baby? But what about as get older? We also have a DS who will 3 when they are born not sure if that matters.

Other question is anyone on Triplet connections? And is that a good resource? I know you have to pay for it but have not found that many triplet moms even on here to answer the tons of questions I have and know I will have as this goes along. Thanks for any help.

Re: Triple Strollers and another triplet question

  • Wish I could help, but I haven't had my triplets yet!  I can share the thought process on why we picked what we did though...  We ended up getting the 'triple decker' for use with the Graco Snugride 30, but my inlaws paid for everything.  DH & I wanted a triple stroller that was front to back instead of side by side so we'd be able to fit through standard doorways.  I was told by another triplet mom that the triple decker fits into most standard elevators and into a handicapped bathroom stall.  I have not joined the Triplet Connection, but plan on joining a MoM club in my area.  Hope this helps!

  • I was considering the Peg Perego but the infant seats are heavy and that stroller is so big to break down to get into the car. We bought a triple decker off Craigslist to use with the Graco infant seats and then another stroller for when they are older called Inglesia or something like that. It's another Italian brand. I also got it off CL. So I would check CL or someone from a local MoM club might be selling a triple stroller.

I would definitely check out CL, I've seen the Peg for $500 in my area, as well as some other triplet strollers. I've also heard a lot of good things about the Valco Tri Mode (with the Joey seat) on this board.

I'm a member of TC as well, but post here more. Triplet connection was a great resource while I was pregnant - the search function for past posts were very helpful.

FWIW, I have the Peg Perego stroller and really like it, although I agree that the infant seats are heavy. We just switched to the stroller seats, and it's so much easier now. If you can find one for a decent price, I would recommend it.

  • I bought my strollers from CL and classifies from my MOM's group.

    triple decker frame-$75

    double snap n go-$20

there's one listed now for when they grow out of infant seats not sure if its an older model peg or inglesia but it's listed for $50 so I plan on buying that one too!

I never joined triplet connection didn't feel like paying the joining fee.  There's a free triplet mom site on baby center.

  • I only have two babies so I don't know how much help this is, but I rarely take the two babies out by myself so I imagine with trips, you'd rarely take them out by yourself as well. We have a double frame stroller, but often times wish we had two singles for going out. If I was you, for price reasons and manuverability, I'd consider a double frame and a single frame. Then you have more flexibility with carseats (consider the chicco key fit since it goes down to 4# and that's important since your little ones might come home under 5#) and you'll also have more combinations of strollers to use if you are ever taking just one or two babies out (single doctors appt?). I know that in the early days it was daunting to take them both out so I'd take one to the store and leave DH with the other so one frame would have been fantastic.

Then, when they are 6-7 months old and you want something else you'll see what your lifestyle is like and what you'll be using a stroller for and will better be able to pick out the "big" stroller.

  • I didn't join TC, but I do comment on the forums (that's free.) I think you'll get just as much info here and on other message boards, as what you'd get by joining. I did join MOST for a year, though. I liked their magazine.

Strollers - we had the TD at first and the PP later. Liked them both.
