Can I get a yay or nay for trying carrots with my 5 month old? Earth's Best lists it as a stage one, so I bought a bunch, but wholesomebabyfood.com said no and now I'm just confused! Earth's Best also listed peas as a first food, and I tried it without looking at my baby food bible, and he seems to have survived...
Re: Anyone give carrots as a first-ish food?
^She's WAAAY too cute to let the carrots win.
They were the first things I gave M. She's still alive. Our pedi said just make sure to peel them, and not to use the cooking water.
The nitrates aren't as big an issue as they are made out to be. And the nitrates come from the soil they're grown in, so whether or not they're organic doesn't mean anything IRT nitrates. Any baby old enough to eat solids should have a mature enough digetsive system to handle any nitrates from carrots.
