posted on fb along with a link to an evite:
I know some of you have asked where we are registered well it's Babies R US and Target. We're still working out where we are going to have the shower..I guess it will depend on how many RSVPs we get Add yourself if you want to come.
You can't even make your own guest list?
Re: Jaw dropping baby shower invite
huh???? wtf????
Damn invites are getting weirder and weirdo....where's emily post when you need her?
I don't consider myself the etiquette police but I can't get on board with the facebook invites.
This one is...well, as you said jaw dropping!!
My cousin just had her third kid. Her first is 18, her second is 10 and the third one was just born last month. She had a baby shower for all 3... registered for everything the whole 9.
She set up an event on facebook and threw herself a baby shower for her third. I didn't go. I thought it was super tacky to just set up an event and expect people to come to your house. If it was a baby welcoming party or even a "Sprinkle" that she was throwing for herself- sure; I'm all about parties. But to throw yourself a full blown shower? I'm out!
I know, I got one to a shower for someone having her 3rd girl and the other two are 10 and 3.
My MIL has stated she'll be throwing me a shower but is refusing to tell me anything about it and I'm absolutely terrified that she'll do something like this and insult all of my friends and the polite portion of DH's family.
L.A.Z.Y.
Or
Greedy. I don't decide.
That's a little bizarro.
Pretty soon people will be having virtual showers where nobody attends, just gifts and money are sent.
Actually, that's the kind of shower I would 'attend'.
IDK; in this case I wish someone would suggest a 'baby stuff swap' for the single mom to be, even a single mom of two. I know I've given away a tonne of stuff in the past and happy to do it.
