Re: Would you consider either of these two boys names popular?

  • I wouldn't say that they're popular, but not unique either.

    I like them both.

  • I think Carter is.  In my circle of friends there are 5 baby Carters.

That being said, I really like the name Carter and would use it regardless of popularity.  Easton is nice too.

  • I think Carter was popular (maybe for boys like 3-5 now) but I don't think it's as popular as it was. I don't think Easton is a popular name.
  • Thanks for the responses! I didn't think Easton was but Carter is #55 in Popularity or something like that (based off a website I saw earlier) and these are our top 2 boy  names so I figured I check! Very few of my friends have kids and they are all girls and I am never around kids otherwise.

  • We're naming our son Easton, and my only concern was that it moved up over 100 spots on the SSA list from 2009 to 2010. It is definitely gaining in popularity.

  • I think it just depends on where you are. I've heard of a lot of boys with these names in the last yr or 2 on facebook or boards like these but I only know of one Easton and no Carters myself. I love both of them, they're both on my list although Carter got vetoed.

  • I like them both.  The only Easton I've ever known was female, though, so it doesn't sound right for a boy's name to me.

  • Not really popular but I find Easton to be a bit trendy.

  • Carter - definitely think it's popular.
  • I know several Carter's, most being under the age of 5, so I would consider it popular. I have never heard of Easton though.

  • Carter -- not too popular, but certainly not unusual

Easton -- not popular at all

  • I think that Carter is becoming a popular name.  We are using it if we have a boy.  I don't know of anyone with a child named Easton but I like it because its different.

  • I would say that they are more trendy then popular.
