I really like Julian and DH initially liked it too but people keep telling him it's a girl's name. So not true! Now he's turned off. Other considerations: Evan and Marc (DH's name) WDYT?
I've always really liked Julian, but can't use it because my name is Gillian. Sounds like others can't hear the difference between Julian and Gillian (a girl's name).
I like Julian. It is true that the medieval mystic Julian of Norwich was a woman, but most of the time it's a boy's name. I would add it to our boy name list if it were not so close to my own name.

I know a little girl named Julian but mom wanted to make it girly...so she is Jewelian. Ick!
I also had a little boy in my class last year named Juelian. I don't know why the e is in there. But he wasn't a very nice little guy, so I don't like it.
I know two Julians. One is 89, one is 29. Both are male, and I LOVE the name. The 89-year old goes by Jules.
Evan and Marc are also nice. But if you really like Julian, then you should use it.

My daughter talked herself out of naming her possible son Julian for this exact reason...everyone kept telling her it sounded like a girls' name! I suppose it's a bit low on the overt masculinity scale, but I don't think it goes so far as to be feminine in nature. To me, Evan sounds way prissier than Julian, but I guess I'm just weird.

THIS. I love the name. But I think that might be a little obvious as we named DD, Julia.
I really like Julian - it's not a girls name a all.
Evan and Marc are cute too, but I think Julian is the best.
It's NMS, but I think it's a boy's name. I have a younger boy cousin who is named Julian.

Much prefer Marc.
