Intro and question about 1st appt

Hi ladies. I've been lurking for a few weeks now but I go to my first appt today.  DH and I are super excited for this LO.  DH has a DD6 but this is my first.  We got married in Oct and know we wanted to start trying after 6 months.  It didn't take long.  SD is excited to be a big sister. 

Today at the appt they are going to do an o/s and then I will meet with the doctor to go over questions.  My question is what questions do you ask the doctor at your first visit?  I've never done this and feel very overwhelmed and unprepared.  I'm a Type A person so I am always over prepared so this is new territory for me.

Feel free to ask them whatever you are comfortable with. When I was pg with dd I was in the same situation as you and had no idea what to ask. But I had a great doctor and asked a few questions, but he filled me in with other things I needed to know. You will learn a lot there and a lot here. Have fun today! Congrats!

Congrats and I hope your apt goes well! 

One thing I would ask if the Dr. doesnt say is what to expect at future visits. What types of things should I be doing and what shouldnt I. I havent been to my first apt yet, but I have heard others say that sometimes dr's will give you a list of meds that are okay to take or not okay. And I am going to ask what types of pain or body changes should I expect and what types of things should I be concerned about (like if this happens go to the ER type stuff).

I would be sure to ask who delivers your baby in case your doctor is on vacation and if you will be able to at least meet them if they don't rotate your appointments.  For my son's birth my doctor was on vacation- it was New Year's Eve- and I had to have the on-call doctor deliver me whom I had never met.  I know it's only your first appointment but I regret not meeting the doctor who delivered me until it was go time.
