Pre-School and Daycare

my 2 year old

I would love to put my 2 year old DD in a preschool program.  The problem is she isn't potty trained yet and hates when other people change her diaper besides mom and dad.  I took her to daycare for a couple hours a couple weeks ago and she loved it.  Still talks about it and wants to go back but they told me when I picked her up that she cried and screamed when they would change her diaper.  I really want to put her into preschool because I know she would love it and benefit from it.  I was just wondering if anyone had any advice and what I can do to make her more comfortable with having her diaper changed.

Thanks

  • It really depends on what you're comfortable with, but in my opinion she'll get over it once she gets to know them and the routine.  It's such a short period of time during the day vs. all the positive stuff she'll experience the rest of the time.

  • Why don't you just try 1/2 day an academically based daycare for a few days a week?  Most run of the mill programs just won't put up with that.  Also if things get better you could consider putting her in starting in January.

I started my son at 2 1/2 but he was really close to PTing and he was in a special program.  I'm already keeping an eye open for Callum and most pre-schools I'm noticing just really want them to be super close to PTing or PT'd.  He has an August birthday so it is going to be tight if I want to enroll him when he is turning 3.
