This isn't what you want to hear...but we stopped using pockets at night. We couldn't stuff them enough. Even with 2 hemp plus 1 MF J. still leaked. And if we tried adding more inserts, there were leg gaps to leak through.
So we switched to fitteds at night. We use Sbish snapped and haven't had a leak since.

I have a few fitteds Ive been reluctant to try. My friend is sending me a wool cover that she made. If it stands up to the day time test I might try it out with some of my fitteds at night.
What type of cover do you use? Wool?

We usually use wool. But DH has forgotten and just used PUL (Thirsties or Blueberry covers) a few times because we use PUL during the day so it's habit. And even with PUL we haven't had leaks.
I haven't been brave enough to use wool during the day. I like the convenience of throwing the covers in the wash. They get so dirty now with him crawling around in the garden and stuff. I feel like I would want to be washing my wool way more than I have time for if we used it during the day.
I don't have a different solution, but I wanted to tell you that since we are now past night feeds, DS's heavy wetting is much better. GL!
