Talking in an "announcer" voice?

My son is almost 3 and when he wants to show that he is excited or impressed by something he often talks in this loud, deep tone of voice. I'm pretty sure he's imitating an announcer's voice like you would hear on tv. For instance, he'll say something like "monster trucks are. so. cool" or "that fire engine is huuuuge" in this voice.

Do you think this is normal? Is this something your child does?

Lil' kids are funny, that's all I can say.

The other day my 3.5 year old asked me if I could help him with his "boo-boo" (bathroom action).  I told him that he didn't need me to help him with his boo boo because he's a big boy and he said "but I need help to squeeze it out"  TMI but funny :-)

    LOL!

    OP, I think that's normal.

  • My 3 year old boy has an "adult' voice he uses sometimes in play.  It makes me crazy because it's hard to understand but he's really into trains and wants to talk like a train conductor.  Whatever.  He doesn't use it all the time and can use his normal voice so I'm doing my best to ignore it.
  • My DD was talking like a ringmaster at a circus the other day.  "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we're going to make lunch now with Mommy!".  Funny thing is she's never been to the circus.
