Hayley came in this morning and told me you ladies were asking about me so I wanted to give a quick update. We are still hanging in for now. I have been having issues controlling my blood sugars while here and have been started on glyburide (spelling) and had to have rescue insulin shots twice. I also can't seem to have any luck with the catheter and they keep having to switch it out which is PAINFUL! they have done a few ultrasounds and baby is still looking great. My cervix as of yesterday was dilated 2 cm and my water is bulging about an inch in to my vagina. I freaked out when he said an inch but the doctor said that it sounded worse than it really was. They are doing another ultrasound today to check fluid levels because one of the meds I am on can cause decrease in fluid. He also said they will do an EKG later this wek on baby to heck things out. By mid next week they will start steroids and hopefully I can hang in there until then. I feel alright other than just antsy to get up and move. The days are passing faster than I would have thought because I have had lots of visitors. I am of course still very terrified and just anxious to make it to the end of next week so I at least know we have a chance. Thank you all for caring and checking on me, I appreciate it more than you know. Sorry for the mess of a post, I'm on my phone.
Re: Update
It is good to hear from you and that baby is still hanging out! Take care of yourself and let your visitors pamper you!
You are on all of our minds. Many thoughts and prayers continue to be with you and that sweet boy. Thank you for the update and I hope everything continues to go fairly smoothly!
There was a post from Denise2005 below, not sure if you would see:
i havent been on this board in forever. I'm so sad that she is having problems.
StillWaiting - I had my boy at 25 weeks and he is perfect! Just wanted to give some encouragement. I know 1 week is a huge difference but it was so unexpected that nothing was prepared. only 1 shot to help the lungs to develop and they didnt know we had different blood types and that I was group B strep +. so he wasn't treated for any of those things for a few days unless the initial stabalization got settled in.
So my advice is see if they can test for those while still pregnant and ask about the shots to help mature the lungs. all my hugs and thoughts for you guys right now!!
oh and my friends sister use to be the head charge nurse at UC's NICU. She left a little bit ago to finish her masters. If you need anything let me know and I will contact her - like names of the best nurses. Believe me they make ALL the difference in your NICU journey .

You and your baby are in my thoughts. I hope the babe stays in long enough to get good and healthy without causing you anymore stress!
