I'm meeting my attorney to go over the custody/visitation papers I was served with. They said I had to file with the county clerk within 30 days. Do we come up with a counter offer? Or head straight to mediation? I'm pretty nervous, especially since EX lives out of state.

Re: What to expect today?
Your attorney will know what to do and file the appropriate papers with the appropriate people by the deadlines.
Do you have a counter offer? You should write a list of with 3 columns: 1. what you want if everything went your way, 2. What you can live with, 3. What can never happen and the Arc Angel Michael himself couldn't slay the dragon that came out of you if it came to being.
If you just recently got an attorney have him contact the state or the state the info is in.
Also, talk to your attorney anyway...get an attorney that deals with child support and child custody cases.
Also, make sure you document anything he sends you in anyway.
