sleep help

naps & bed time have been a nightmare the past few nights. They used to go to bed between 6:30 & 7. Now we are lucky we if get them down by 8:30 pm! They scream & cry the whole time. Something they never used to do. What gives? Naps during the day are just about the same way. Then they don't nap for long either. Maybe if i'm lucky i would get 1hr each time.

Do you think their routine was messed up somehow? Daycare has asked me to make sure we (meaning my MIL mostly) are putting them down at the same time each nap & bed time. We have tried but it's useless.

I have no idea what the heck happened. :(

They are still waking up mult x's during the night as well. We had a really nice week and a half of STTN from both then BAM! This so sucks! lol any insight would be great! Thanks!

Re: sleep help

  • If I remember right, that seems about the right age for them to start fighting sleep. Do you have a routine you do before they go to bed? I would just make sure it's consistant (you probably already are). They also may be teething. That always seem to throw everything off. Good luck!
  • my guys have STTN since 4 months...don't hit me!  But a few weeks ago out of the blue we had some trouble fighting sleep too.... for about a week.  I think it had to do with starting to crawl or something.  But I agree with PP, it is probably just a stage. Good luck!

  • Are they close to crawling? Mine did this for a few days when they were getting close to crawling b/c they just wanted to be awake to "practice" all the time. Once they started crawling, it stopped.
  • DD has been crawling since just about 8 mos. DS is just starting and he is the one that's up the most climbing the crib. So hopefully you ladies are right! Thanks!!

Mine did this, too.  I even posted something about crawling = FML.  There was one hellish night where they both sleep crawled all night long and DS kept standing up in the crib and couldn't get back down.  We practiced standing up and sitting down a LOT the next few days and once he got the hang of that and the hang of crawling they were much better.

    GL!
