Another BOB question...

Do you have the sport utility or the revolution and is it worth it to get the one with the swivel wheel?

Based on what I've read, the swivel wheel is if you're using it for walking too.  While I use my BOB every day, I only walk with it 5% of the time.  It's almost exclusively used for running.  For me, I need the bigger, tougher wheels of the sport utility.  No way I'd take it to the mall, but it's perfect on the roads.

  • You definitely want the swivel wheel if you're going to be walking/slow running, especially in crowds. With the swivel wheel, you just lock it for running, although most of the time we don't even do that. The BOB is somewhat difficult to steer in crowded areas or places with lots of turns if you had one without a swivel wheel.

  • I just got a Revolution that I'll use 99% for walking.  You can walk without the swivel wheel, but having test drove the swivel, I can see why it's WAY more maneuverable. It basically spins in place with the swivel. I probably wouldn't have paid for it, though, except that the tendonitis in my wrist is so bad that I didn't want to push the front up to turn (especially as they get heavier.)

You JUST missed a great sale! I got the dualie and a cupholder for $520. Steal! They have 20% off sales on them, possibly at the REI labor day sale.  There was a site that would track them.  Strollerdeals.com maybe?

I told my DH I'm going to call it "my precious."  It's AWE-SOME.

We opted for the Revolution. I run, walk, and use the BOB for longer trips (like to the zoo). Quite honestly, I rarely lock the wheel when I run - I usually run in neighborhoods unless I want to pack up the babies and the stroller and head to a park or trails. The swivel helps me take corners easily and quickly get out of the way of other walkers, runners, etc.

  • We have the Revolution also and I think the swivel wheel in my opinion is a must and I don't even use it for jogging, but that's just me. :)
