Hi!  I hope you are feeling well!

I've seen you post recently about keeping the sex a surprise or finding out. Let me tell you- don't find out.  There are so few surprises left in life, and this is one of the greats.

We didn't find out either time, although I was tempted with this pregnancy.  Like I told you before, I can close my eyes and hear my DH whispering that Emilia was 'a beautiful girl'.  I was so overcome with emotion and joy, I just can't imagine that moment being the same if an U/S tech told us, you know?

And no, we didn't have a preference on the sex. I thought both girls were boys though, so I was surprised twice.

  • Aw, thank you for that!  I really think we're about 90% sure we won't find out.  People keep suggesting we have the tech write it down in a sealed envelope in case we change our minds, but I think that would be a BAD thing--too much temptation!  Your story is definitely going to help me maintain my willpower at the big u/s, and I really think it will be worth the wait!
  • I wanted to find out around 28 weeks, I even asked my OB. But the U/S tech didn't record the sex.  SOooo, I am glad that I didn't have an envelope to tempt me.

It's such an unbelievable moment.  As you are laboring and pushing, you forget that the baby is going to be a boy or girl, then it is just unreal when you hear, "It's a girl".  I'm sure the same would go for "It's a boy" but I've never heard that :)
