Anyone use vinyl training pants?

DS's OT suggested trying some of the plastic or vinyl training pants over regular underwear for ds since he is still unbothered by going to the bathroom in his underwear and/or diaper.

Has anyone else used them?  Or have any suggestions?

  • I have tried some. DD tries to wear them alone- which gets very sweaty and uncomfortable. Be prepared to clean. They are not leak proof. She pees right through them, even with padded training underwear.

  • I used them on my daughter, when she was training. I think it def helped with her :)

    Good luck!

  • We used them when we were out in the beginning of Pting to minimize the mess of an accident.  They worked nicely.  I suggest letting your LO go bare bottomed as much as possible around the house.  I know that helped DD put it all together, and she really hated having the pee drip down her legs.

  • I only used them on DD in the car but for some reason that is the only place that she has never had an accident so I stopped using them after a week.

  • We didn't use the plastic ones, but have been using cloth trainers for nighttime.  I like Super Undies.  They're not completely waterproof, but do a pretty good job for us overnight.  The part that's closest to her skin is just like underwear, so she's still well aware that she's wet when she's wearing them.  I stuff them with hemp inserts from her cloth diapers and that works well.
