Tried Puddlejumpers on my kiddos...need more suggestions. :)

I found Puddlejumpers at a local boating store, and bought 2 to try on my LOs.  I kind of thought it was a long shot, because Marshall tips the scales at 24 lbs. and Hannah is only 21-23lbs.  So theyr'e quite a ways off the 30lb. minimum.

They SWALLOWED them up!  I can see how they'll be great for them...next year.  But they couldn't even move their arms and I could easily slip their arms right out, so we'll be returning them and will try again next summer.

Any one have other suggestions for my itty-bitties?  I'm simply looking for something that will allow them to float freely...kick their feet and realize that it propels them...supervised at all times, obviously.  :)

  • yeah- that's way too small for them. Gray is 28lbs and JUST fits into the puddlejumper- but it's still a bit too big on him.

honestly- at that age i'd just hold on to them.... that's what we did last year with the twins - nothing floating for them until this year with the PJ's.

I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • My DS loved this:   (They make a non covered version, but in AZ we need all the sun shade we can get. I just typed in covered pool float for kids on Amazon, but I know they sell them at Target and BBB too).

  • My girls are about the size of your LOs. We don't use anything. They both have a floatie to sit in like pp posted, but they hate it. We just hold them in the water. They mostly just like climbing up and down the stair anyway.
  • I know they make swimsuits with life jackets basically built into the suit.  Have you seen any of those in their size?  I agree that at that age, I would have them in my arms or use a ring since you'll be right there.  You could always use a noodle to give them that feeling as well.  At three, mine are just now using the puddle jumpers and "swimming" with them.
