If your toddler is rear facing in the car do you let them eat snacks? I've been letting Lila snack in the car more recently and for some reason today I got really paranoid that she could choke and I wouldn't be able to see her.
However, I have Ethan FF who can tell me what she's doing, so I frequently check on her through him. You could always get a mirror (although I think they're technically considered a projectile).
No, I don't have a mirror. The car seat inspector said they weren't safe. I obviously don't give her foods that are choking hazards...I'm probably just being paranoid.
L is FF now, but when he was RF I let him have snacks. We had the FP mirror that velcros over the headrest and attaches to the LATCH anchor -- it gave me peace of mind to be able to see him and I didn't worry about it detaching and hitting him in the head since it was connected securely.
I've worried about that too. I'm not driving in the car alot with DD alone, so sometimes I still ride in the back with her and hand her snacks. Maybe give her things that are dissolvable? Or things like Cheerios that have a hole for air to get through. Or maybe just give her milk or juice (not sure if you do juice) instead for a little snack.
Re: ?? about RF toddlers
Yes, I do. It keeps us all happy
