BOTW: thanks jules!
What's your zodiac sign?:
aries...and yes, i am super stubborn! i used to read my horoscope everyday in college. my roommates thought i was a nut. random fact: my husband and dog are both aries as well. it makes for a fun household.
What clique were you in, in high school?:
i had two close groups of friends. the skaters and the "super involved" (student counsel, cheerleading, sports, homecoming queen, etc)...but i didnt really fit in either of those categories. I was on the swim team and in choir. I guess my friends were more outgoing than i was
Are you a SAHM, Working Mom, or Work From Home Mom?
SAHM. Ive always wanted to be a SAHM and am lucky enough to have married someone who is super supportive of it, and likes to help in his free time.
Pepsi or Coke?
Neither. Im not a big soda fan. I like coffee, tea, and water. If i DO have soda, its an Izzy drink.
How did you meet your DH/SO?
we like to say "we met in high school" and thats sort of misleading. we met at work (we worked at a high school together). when we met, we instantly clicked, in that..."i cant stop smiling when im around you" sort of way, but we were both in other long-term relationships. he hated his job (he was kind of my supervisor) and quit after two months of working together. 2 years later he called me. we were both just out of our previous relationships and we've been together ever since.
What's your earliest childhood memory?
my very first memory isnt a very good one. but i do have lots of memories of pool parties at my grandparents house. they lived up the street and had tons of parties. they would set up a bunch of card tables with plastic table cloths, and a make-shift bar, and invite all of their friends over. my mom used to drag us up there in our bathing suits and jelly sandals to party with the oldies-but-goodies. my favorite part was the deviled eggs. my grandma made a mean deviled egg!
Have you ever traveled internationally?
yes, mexico (i used to live in san diego, so we would just drive), costa rica, europe (france, holland, germany, switzerland, italy, spain, belgium, czeck republic...this was a 7 week backpacking trip with a friend in college), and most recently, portugal. oh, i love to travel!
What's your #1 played iPod/iPhone/MP3 player song?
"Home". By Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id4vnQE0ok4
What's your dream trip/experience to share with your child (now, or when they get older)?
Oh, so many! grand canyon, europe, road trip around the US. i just hope he loves to travel as much as we do!
What was your favorite (non-registry) baby gift?
My girlfriends made a quilt for me. I had a small shower (10 people). They each designed a square for the quilt and wrote messages to oliver. They also had their children (who oliver will consider cousins) design squares. Those are my favorites as they range in age from 1-13 so there are a lot of fun drawings. Also, some of my out of town family couldnt make it, so they sent them squares in the mail so that everyone whos important in my life would be a part of the quilt, even if they werent at the shower. They stitched them together with vintage looking fabrics and once he was born, added his name, and birth stats. i LOVE it.
Has there been anything you said you'd never do when you had a baby that you've since changed stance on?
im not sure about NEVER do, but i said i would co-sleep for much longer than i did. i thought we would co-sleep for close to a year. but it lasted 4 months. o and i are both light sleepers and we were constantly waking each-other up. we were both super grouchy, so it was time for a change.
How many children do you have and what number child is your December LO?
he is our first. we tried for 3 years before we got lucky!
How many children do you want?
when we started out, we said we wanted 5. but it took so long to get pregnant with him, and we are on the older side...so realistically, id say 3. if we never get lucky again...i will be happy with 1. we are also considering adoption.
Do you have a mom/parenting website or blog recommendation for us?
i enjoy reading soulemama.com when i have time.
How about a non-mom/parenting website or blog recommendation?
i sometimes read younghouselove to get diy tips. i dont necessarily love their style, but i like reading about how to fix/build/paint on a budget.
Which celebrity do you get told you resemble?
twice ive been told mandy moore. but most of the time its jennifer garner...especially when my hair is in a pony tail. a bank teller actually told me that she thought i was jennifer garner the whole time i was standing in line. what a weirdo.
Where's Waldo?
locked in the basement.
What are you wearing right now?
black sweatpants, black t-shirt, and glasses.
How did you come up with your LOs name?
ive loved the name oliver since i was a kid. (i also think oliver hudson is hot...so that just helped things along. everybody likes a good name association right??!!) my husband didnt love it at first, and his name was tobias (toby) for a week. but once we got to know him, we knew he was an oliver.
What did you have for supper last night?
spitsngiggles white chicken chili...it was delicious!..i highly recommend!

do you have a link to the white chicken chili recipe??
here is the original post. theres a few recipes listed, so just look for the chili. the others are all good too though! (im making the pot roast tonight...the house smells delish!)

spitsngiggles said to put the chicken in raw and cook on low all day. i checked mine at 7 hours and it was ready to shred. also, i made a double batch and the cooking time was the same.
