I am putting in a call to the pediatrician as soon as I finish typing this, but wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this.
Lately, DD will start choking/gagging out of nowhere. It goes on for just a few seconds, then it seems like she is gasping for breath, and then she is perfectly happy. Acts like nothing just happened or bothered her. It happens at all hours of the day and night and has no correlation to feedings that I can see.
It's terrifying. Seriously. Does anyone else's LO do this??
Re: Choking?
My LO does this every once in awhile. I think he either builds up some extra saliva and forgets to swallow, or it's a bit of silent reflux. Doesn't happen very often at all but scares the crap out of me every time!
He used to choke a lot while feeding, thankfully he seems to be growing out of that!
My little boy does this sometimes, too. One time he wasn't able to catch his breath afterwards. Terrifying!!
I spoke to his pedi about it and she said it's probably some reflux that catches him off guard and he should grow out of it. In the meantime, I'm watching/listening like crazy for it to happen again.
