Birth Centers...??

Hi Everyone!

 I am looking in to possibly having a labor and delivery process at a Birth Center. After doing some initial internet research, I was wondering if anyone has any experience at Gentle Beginnings Birth Center? If not, does anyone have a specific Birth Center/Midwife that they strongly recommend or do NOT recommend?? Thanks in advance for your advice!!

    I've heard good things about the birth center in Allen.  Not sure of the name though, sorry!

    BFP 12.20.2010 :: missed m/c 1/2011 around 8 weeks
    BFP @ 9dpo 5.24.2011 :: missed m/c 6/2011 around 7 weeks
    positive for ANAs (1:40) with a speckled pattern
    MTHFR c677t mutation (heterozygous)
    *folic acid, baby asprin, Prometrium, acupuncture, Lovenox*
    BFP @ 9dpo 2.1.2012 || HCG = 8 : Progesterone = 19.2
    2nd HCG @ 11dpo = 40 || 3rd HCG @ 21dpo = over 5000!

    I had my daughter at Gentle Beginnings and the entire experience was wonderful!  All of the midwives there are great, but I used and love Sarah.   I can't imagine having children anywhere else now.  It was such a good experience.

    Oh, thank you so much, aljon! I am in the WAYYY early phases, but a birthing center vs. hospital birth has really been weighing on my mind for some reason. So happy to hear that you had such a great experience at Gentle Beginnings.

    I am just having a hard time getting over the "What If's"... I am a Neonatal ICU nurse, and am having a hard time realizing that what MY normal is, is not what normal REALLY is...

     What was it about Gentle Beginnings and Sarah in particular that made you feel so comfortable?

    I am also looking into birth centers. So far one that a girlfriend recommended was All About Babies. I plan to take a tour soon. NOt sure what area your looking at but this one is in Argyle.

    We've been very happy so far with the Allen Birthing Center (https://allenbirthingcenter.com/). I'm 28 weeks along and they have been exactly what I was looking for - thorough, involved, supportive...

     And they're right off 75, so they're easy to get to, even though Allen sounds so far away (from my place in Dallas).
