I am expecting twins in January and I was wodering if most twin mommies bought one or two cribs for their nursery. I plan on buying two basinets and the twin play yard/pack in play. Thanks for your help!
We did 2 cribs. I tried putting them in one PNP bassinet the first night home after the hospital but found mine were squirmy and so I did 2 separate PNP bassinets (for the first 2 months) and then transitioned them to separate cribs since then.
You'll eventually want two cribs. However, some of us have kiddos that have shared one crib for a while. We bought two cribs and initially only set up one. They shared one until they were about 7 months old and were starting to kick one another. :-)

Mine were only able to share a crib until they were about 5 weeks, and then they were just too squirmy and didn't quite fit together. We did have the twin PNP, but I honestly wish I had just gotten two regular PNPs and then had the two cribs.

We just now bought our second crib for the boys, and they are almost 5 months old. It was nice to wait. I liked it when they slept together! Plus, it saved cost because we used some of the money and gift cards (walmart) people gave us to get the other crib. Plus they are both convertible so it will last through their teens and beyond. Assuming they don't break them!! I know you weren't asking for suggestions, but I just love our cribs so much, and they were an awesome price! This is what we got:
Definately 2. We have 2 setup but they are sleeping in the same one right now. Going to seperate them pretty soon (as soon as they start threatening to roll over)
i'm going against the grain and only plannign to use 1. my cousin used one the entire time until she transitioned her girls to twin size beds with rails at about 2.5 yrs. old. we're also in the midst of a move, so i dont want/need extra furniture right now. even without the move, i'd use 1 for as long as possible.

I used this for about 5 months.....

and we use 2 cribs now. I have had to separate them for naps, etc. so I still use this pack and play, (without the twin insert). GL!
