travelling list

We are taking a little trip (about 4 days) with our oldest DD and 8 week old.  Any recommendations for what to take for the baby.  I believe our unit has a washer and dryer.  Trying to avoid overpacking.  Oldest DD is 9 so needless to say, this is like having a first all over again. lol.

Re: travelling list

  • If you have a RNP, I would take that over the PNP.  We went out of town for the 4th and the PNP was so cumbersome.  I wish I had just brought the RNP instead.

Also, I was shocked at how much stuff we had to take for the baby.  You might want to get it together and just make sure you've got room in the car before you pack up to leave and realize you can get your own bag in. lol.  I don't think I could have fit one more person's stuff in the car.

  • I brought: Twice as many outfits as days we would be gone, don't forget socks You said you'll have a w/d but your not gonna spend your whole trip doing laundry! Travel bassinet
Bouncy seat 5oz BM for every 2-3 hrs drive time, 4 bottles, and my pump w/ storage bags. I pumped for the return trip on the way there. Infant tub (plus everything needed to bathe baby) Full bag of diapers and wipes.

Question: did you just feed her in the car seat while driving or did you stop every time? If you stopped, why did you choose to bottle feed over nursing? We're making a 9hr drive to Canada in a few weeks and I know we're going to need to get LO out and stretch her quite a bit but I don't want a 9hr drive to take 12hrs.

For timeliness we bottle fed her while driving. We pulled over to pee, changed her diaper, then I sat in the back to give her a bottle. I loosened her harness and leaved her forward to burp. She's good at burping on her own though.
