Cincinnati Babies

Party Entertainment for Children

I've been trying to locate a children's entertainer for my dd's birthday.  I went to a party a couple of year's ago in NYC and they had a guitar player/singer who played infant/gymoboree type songs and came to the home/location of the party.  It was so much fun and I thought I might be able to find something around here but so far, no dice.  I know Cincinnati isn't New York, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places?  Does anyone have any ideas?

TIA!

  • I'm no help but am looking forward to the responses. I've been thinking the same thing for DD's birthday!

  • This is not an answer to your question, but speaking of party entertainment for children...at the last birthday party my son attended they had a clown doing face painting and balloon animals AND a person drawing caricatures of the kids (like the ones at Kings Island). The caricatures were a wonderful keepsake to take home in lieu of a goody bag or something.

I did a quick google for musicians for a childrens party and found this https://www.party-themes.com/vendors/24-Seven-Band-530752.html

  • This may not be what you are looking for but a good friend of mine had a petting zoo come to their house. There were 2 people, a husband and wife and while she did all the animal stuff he would entertain the kids with singing and dancing and what not inside. He played a guitar and sang. While he wasn't the best singer in the world, the kids loves it and the petting zoo was really fun! They brought their horse and did pony rides for the kids. Plus had lots of other animals like rabbits, ducks, chickens, dog etc... I have no idea what she paid but I can ask her if she would have any info for them still. This was probably 6 years ago.

  • We found someone who does balloon animals, magic, and I think puppet shows & clown shows.

I'm drawing a blank right now, but I think we have his business card at home. I hope so anyway, since we were hoping to do this for DD's next bday!

If I find it I'll get back on here w/ his info.

re: the petting zoo - I've seen animal trailers around here with info on them, so I know there are places that do bday parties, but I've never paid attention to their names. If I happen to see another one, I'll make note of it. Even if you don't want a petting zoo, they might offer other entertainment.
  • Check out https://www.missjoaniemusic.com/Page_1.html  She does parties, and also hosts music classes at C's preschool.  She also has a few cds.  I don't know how much she charges, but I know the kids love her.
  • Thanks Ladies!  Tiffany - I think that Miss Joanie sounds great.  I don't think I'm ready for a petting zoo this year, but it really reminds me of the scene from Mrs. Doubtfire - doesn't some animal poop in the house or something?
