    Right now we're at none with DH in grad school in NYC. I would never live like this long term, but short term I'm proud we're making it work without debt!

    that's awesome penguingrrl!  I know how hard it was to live there.  that's part of the reason we moved (I started nudging for dh to look for a different college).  it's tough to live there.  we were in the same boat... we moved and are making the same salary in a LCOL area. OMG it's so nice to not be stressed out about the lack of or little savings. we are saving a ton now.  I love nyc and if I ever hit the lotto I'll buy a small apt there... but it's definitely easier to live elsewhere.  

    gl to the hubs. how much longer does he have?  any post doc prospects yet?
