Can anything be done about a bad stitch job?

Near where my perineum meets my rectum there is a bubble like piece of skin (don't really know how to describe it) I'm not sure if it's a hemorrhoid or bad stitch job. It doesn't hurt, just bothers me that it's there. I'm going to ask my doc about it when I go for my pp visit. But if it's a bad stitch job is there anything that can be done to fix it? If it's a hemi, is there a way to make it go away for good? I've been using tucks and prep h and it hasn't made a difference.

  • I have a similar bump of skin! Mine isn't painful or itchy and from what I've read about external hemorrhoids, they are very painful and itchy. I think its just a "pucker" from being stitched. I suppose a doctor could restitch you but IMO its better to just live with the bump of skin. I'm just now feeling semi-healed down there so there is no way I would want to be restitched. Ask your OB...maybe there is a less painful way to fix it?

  • Like pp, I also have a little piece of skin where I think it "puckered."  It was annoying at first, and I could definitely feel it.  I'm about 2 months pp now, and I don't even notice it now.  Maybe just give it some more time?

  • I had this after my son's birth and it didn't go away.  I wasn't thrilled about it but had never considered that something could be done to 'fix' it.  Now I am about 2 1/2 weeks pp and after having torn things are even more of a mess.  What's a girl to do?
