Food Allergy

RP from my local: Allergy Girl article...

This article was posted by someone on my local board. Its an adult with food allergies talking about how she continues to live her life despite her allergies..

I find it interesting.. but I don't really agree with her about how this generation of FA kids is being put in a bubble.

What are your thoughts?

ETA: To clarify my stance: I do agree that children need to learn how to advocate for themselves as they get older, but I do not agree that measures to protect them in early childhood are going too far.

i didn't read the article yet but i HATE when someone says my son is in a bubble b/c it's not fair, especially when the person's kids have no allergies. people just don't get it unless they are going through it.

Until my son is old enough where he is responsible and can read labels and make sure everything is ok.. i am responsible for his life.  I still hope he lives a full and happy life, i hope he will travel the world and never let his food allergies stop him from what he wants to do..  But the reality is, he has sever food allergies and he can't do everything -especially as a kid.
