Mucus-like discharge

Hi ladies. Twice so far (two-three weeks apart) I've found musuc-like discharge in my underwear. Sort of the consistency of a big wad of snot if you were sick. Yum! Usually my discharge is thinner and whitish. None of it (the usual stuff or the mucus-like stuff) has had any brown/pink/red in it. Just whitish. It's also possible the mucus-like stuff is expelled semen that didn't liquify. If that's possible. Sorry if that's TMI!

Anyway. I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not. If anyone has experienced mucus-y discharge in the second trimester, please let me know. Thank you!

I don't think you should worry much. My sis & I are both pregnant (5 weeks apart!) and we have been comparing notes. We've both noticed this discharge and I think as long as it's white-ish and not green or bloody, I think you're okay.

In early second trimester I had what you are describing.  Clear, no odor, thick... I think it is normal.  I also used to have this around ovulation time each month before I was pregnant.

Now it's just liquidy and has been this way for a good month or so.

I believe that this is what has been referred to as crotch snot and is totally normal I have had it too. If it gets to be bothersome, I was told to just wear a panty liner.

Just asked the doc about this.  She said as long as it doesn't smell or sting or have blood in it, it is normal.  don't worry!

I get this too.  Invest in some pantyliners.

Thank you everybody! You've made me feel better. I will mention it to my doctor at my next appointment in a few days, but you've definitely helped prevent me from freaking out. Of course my first paranoid thought was "Oh my god, my mucus plug" but if it's fairly common, I'll relax.

Discharge will increase during pregnancy. If your worried about it bring it up to your doctor and he can test you to see if there is an infection =]
