We are trying to finish up our homestudy that keeps getting rescheduled and rescheduled (we have to do 3) in hopes of getting permanency and then adoption of my cousins daughter who is 2. The reasons are always fine of course for rescheduling but I am so tired of waiting for this stuff to finally happen! Plus, it is still going to take a bit after that is done to get everything sent to the child's case worker. Ok... fine and dandy. But now I can't seem to get the child's case worker to call me back to see how the little girl is doing and if anyone else has turned in their homestudy. He had sent papers out to two other people who supposedly wanted to also get my cousin's daughter but last I knew, he had heard NOTHING back from them. It has been about 3 weeks or so and the case worker hasn't returned my calls. What do I do? I am nervous now that someone has turned their stuff in and he isn't waiting on ours now.
Re: Feeling discouraged.
That would be really frustrating.
Is there someone else you can call or is it possible for you to go to their office one day? I had to just show up at human services one time, I didn't get to see the cw I was looking for, but she did call me back the next day :-)
I'm so sorry you're having a hard time getting this all figured out with them.
Don't feel discouraged. My experience thus far has proven that despite their best efforts, even working with kids in care is a slooooooooooooooooooooowwwww process.
