Cloth Diapering

AW: So proud of my mom :)

Today she went to a cloth diaper store all by herself!!

I am finally doing my duty as her married daughter and providing her with her first grandson in September. :) DH and I have decided to cd and while she thinks I am mostly crazy (she worries that the laundry will overwhelm me), she has been SO supportive!! (I posted on fb about the BG 4.0 sale and she called me and asked me what colors I wanted then bought me 5!!)

A few weeks ago while I was visiting her I found a cd store in her area and took her. Apparently she went back today in preparation for my baby shower (yaayy!) and chatted with the owner for awhile.

I just love that even though she might not fully agree with our decision, that she is supporting us. Unlike MIL and FIL whose only response every time we bring up cding is "who has to scrape the poop?!?!? haaaaaahahahahaha."

  • That's awesome...I wish there was a CD diapers store near us!  It's always nice to have people supportive of cloth diapering in your family or people who are at least willing to learn!

  • That's awesome that 1) there is a cloth diaper store near you and 2) that your mom is being supportive even if she's not completely sure!

  • That's wonderful!  It really helps to have support.

We have two CD stores near us, but they're both almost an hour away. Sad

  • Yeah, my mom is about 3 hours away. I love being able to go to the store! And it was fun to take her and show her everything. Definitely wish there were more stores around!!

  • My mom figured I would quit CDing soon after starting but now that she sees how much I love it, she is totally on board. I'm glad to see your mom is already supporting you! As for MIL, she CDed with MH and she thinks the CDs we use are the same nasty plastic pants and white gerber cloths that she used. Times have changed lady!

  • That's awesome!  My mom was totally appalled by my and DH's decision to CD, and constantly told us how much we'd hate it when I was pregnant.  I don't think she expected it to last very long.  MIL, however, has been totally supportive and is fascinated by how easy CDs are these days.  She had us showing family members the Snappi during our visit for the 4th of July holiday.  Haha.
