Rolling

Does anyones 9 month old not roll much?  My son just started to roll from front to back a few times and doesn't crawl yet either.  He hated to be on his stomach before so I am just wondering if this is why he is slower at it. I know all kids do things at different times but I was just wondering if they were any others out there.  TIA.

For E it is all in the motivation.  She can roll and crawl but she'd rather pull herself up on the couch and cause havoc so she doesn't do either very much.  Some kids in her playgroup seem to crawl just for the fun of it but she only does it with a purpose in mind.  I think it's just a matter of different personalities!

Basically the only time mine rolls over is to escape from me during diaper changes.  She was never a huge roller and never used rolling to get places.  She crawls all over the place though.

I should add that she just started crawling in the last few weeks though.

my DD is only 8 months but she hardly ever rolls and is nowhere near crawling. i asked my doc and she said she is not concerned because we know she CAN roll, she just doesnt, and she sits just fine. as for crawling she said that 8 months is pretty early. she is a pretty big girl too, real chubby. i think she is just lazy. my mom said i was the same and didnt crawl until i was 10 months. so i dont think you should worry too much at 9 months.   GL

Thanks everyone.  I wasn't too worried about him not rolling as he hated being on his stomach so I didn't put him on it so I figured why would he know how to roll but the nurse at the clinic said he should be rolling by 9 months and if not I should see a specialist.  He has since rolled but not much.
