Ring Sling help

Hi Ladies. I have a two week old baby who I love to wear in my ring sling. The problem is, the material of the sling is very thick and thus, very hot and rigid. Im finding us both very warm when he's in it even though he is minimally dressed. Also, the thickness makes it difficult to keep the material spread evenly over the rings and makes it hard to adjust. I bought it off a local WAHM and I like it but its going to need some breaking in. Ive tried washing a few times but its not helping. Can you recommend a brand of ring sling that would be thinner for us? I'd also like it to have a long tail since this one is short and can't be used to cover up if I get comfortable nursing in it. Thanks in advance!

Re: Ring Sling help

  • A linen ring sling would work better for you.  I just bought a mesh water ring sling, that works amazing here in the hot Florida weather.  I can use it both in pool and out.  I wore my DD for a few hours on the 4th and I was amazed at how cool it was.

  • I'll second PP's recommendation of a linen sling.  My favorite brand can be bought at sleepingbaby.net, but I'd say that any brand with an open tail and no padding would work well.

  • I recommend a linen sling...Sakura Bloom Essential ringslings are great.
