What about the doorbell?

I was trying to figure out what we will do about the doorbell after the baby has gone to bed?  I know your supposed to turn out the lights but it never seems to deter all the kids? He has been going down about 8:30-9 and is a very light sleeper.  What do you do?

    I have to put a sign on the door that says "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  Sorry, we're all out of candy!"

    That's been the only thing that works because turning the lights off seems to make the older kids knock/ring even more.  lol  Little punk-asses.

    Do kids still trick or treat that late? It's been so long since we've had more than 3 kids. I figured they'd all start around 6 and be done by 8 or something...but then I realized that my time guesses have no basis in fact, haha.

    put a post it on the door or over the doorbell that says "baby sleeping do not ring the doorbell"
