? about writing a will

How did you do it? Do I have to have a lawyer or is there something that I can do that doesn't cost much money??

TIA!

Re: ? about writing a will

  • I would get a lawyer. It's not something you want to mess up or not have properly worded etc... I think it's worth it to spend the money on something so important.

  • If you just want something pretty basic. If I die give all my stuff to my husband if he dies give all his stuff to me. If we both die give it all to my kid.....you could use legalzoom.com and it would probably be pretty cheap.  Later down the road you may want to have something professionally prepared as your assets grow etc.

That said, my previous company had a legal insurance that we could pay for. I did this and had a will, healthcare poa, and financial poa all prepared as part of this service. Check and see if your employer offers something.
