Hey everyone... I am expecting twins in November and have just started the cribs search! I have no idea where to begin. I don't know which brands are better than the other. Any suggestions??
Every crib for sale has to meet the same minimum safety standards so really it comes down to your taste in styles and the budget you have to spend. We have a Graco and love it and will most likely be buying another this time since they are nice and sturdy yet affordable.

It kind of depends on your price point and whether you want to buy convertible furniture to last for 18 years, or strictly nursery furniture to replace with big kid stuff in a few years. We spent about $225 on a crib and matching changing table from Walmart and are very pleased with it's sturdiness and ability to see two kids through the toddler bed phase. After that, we plan to buy different big kid furniture, probably from IKEA.
We went with the Graco Lauren and love it. It's pretty cheap and has been sturdy and relatively easy to move (4 times). It's also a convertible crib. Our plan, with DD on the way, is to buy a seperate toddler crib for DS, use the Lauren for DD, then change the Lauren to a full size bed when DS is ready for it and DD is ready for the toddler bed.
That looks much more complicated typed out lol.

Check out Baby Bargains. When we had DD we went with a Meuniere Essex because the store near us was having a huge sale and we got it for under $400. We got the matching night stand, dresser, and hutch as well as the rails to convert it into a full sized bed. It was pricey, and honestly I'm not totally in love with it. DD is now 2.5 and we've converted it to a toddler and then to a full size and I never thought about how much room it would take up (her room isn't that big!) It chipped some, it was moved a lot, but honestly for the price I expected a whole lot more. It's rated very high and none of it was made in China. I wouldn't have paid much more than that for it.
For this baby we went with the Graco Lauren since it's gotten such rave reviews. We got it for $124 off of Amazon with free shipping, but it's still sitting in the box so I really can't say much for it. I think for that price I'd rather get a regular bed for DS when he gets to that age instead of converting!
