I don't know how I missed this board but I am so excited it is here! My sweet girl is allergic to milk, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and eggs. Although after seeing the allergist I am not completely convinced she is allergic to eggs. After having the RAST testing and blood work, she tried to tell me Keira is not allergic to milk...we actually ended up in the ER because of her milk allergy. Anytime, she is accidently given something with milk in it she breaks out in hives. How can she tell me she is not allergic to milk but super allergic to eggs. We have given her eggs a couple times and she has had no reactions. So, anyway I am excited for a board that can give me tips because having a child with allergies is a big PITA. I know it could be so much worse but sometimes I just want to scream! She also has eczema.
Re: New here
Hey there! Allergy testing this young is so inaccurate. Trust your gut! Our allergist actually puts more stock in the symptoms and food trials than he does in the testing. In fact he refuses to do skin testing and only does blood and biopsy testing.
Anyway, welcome!
welcome lady!
yes, allergies are PITA... and the hardest part is when you don't know what it's causing them.
my allergist (2nd try) only does prick tests or blood ones. She doesn't trust RAST. I hope you find someone you can trust soon!
