rec swim diapers

I know nothing- what do I need to get for the pool?  We use cloth diapers but I am open to disposables for this- doesn't really matter.  Thanks!

Re: rec swim diapers

  • If you use cloth diapers, anyway, look at the Bummis swim diapers. I bought mine for $10 on Nicki's Swim Diapers and it ended up lasting two summers because of the velcro closure.

    Disposable swim diapers are $$!

Thanks! I was looking at those at those and Charlie Banana.  Did you find the sizes ran true- Oliver is right between a Medium and a Large at 22lbs, which size would you get?

  • I honestly have no idea. I think we got the medium and used it all the way through, but I'd bet it wouldn't fit him now at 28#. I would probably get the large, the tabs have velcro on both sides so you can overlap them if you have to.

This! We use these and love them!

  • I bought two cheap swim dipes and both are still in perfect shape even though we used them a ton. One was an iPlay swim diaper that I paid about $5 for, and the other was a SwimWays swim diaper that I got at Meijer for $5. Both held up though chlorine and multiple washes over three years, and she pooped a few different times in both and I never had leakage or anything.

  • We have an iPlay and are happy with it.  It has done a good job of containing things when he's pooped in it.

Ditto this.  Jersey recommended it to me when I was looking last summer.  I was pleasantly surprised to be able to use the size (I think large) I got for last summer again this year, even though B is over 10 lbs larger.  It's definitely cheaper than swim diapers.  You just want to make sure you put it on right before swimming, since it doesn't absorb pee.
