Another Growth Spurt ?... But diff than one below!

How do growth spurts work for preemies??  LO's was 10 weeks early, he's almost 4 months actual, 7 weeks adjusted... but he doesn't act like a 4 month old and doesn't act like a 7 week old... He's somewhere in between.

Do you know if a preemie still follows the "typical" growth spurt schedule based on their adjusted age? Or are the spurts random?

Mine hit his pretty close to the typical time frames - for his adjusted age.  He's been hitting most milestones right around adjusted age.  But, he also had other growth spurts that seemed to have been random - so I think you need to be ready for them at any time!

We had this same question, so at his four month actual pedi visit I asked and he said that preemies seem to have the normal ones around their adjusted ages, as well a few here and there to "catch up." I believe it. DS is constantly going through it!

So far his have been around the typical times. He's 6 weeks now & having his most recent one.

My LO has had his growth spurts around his actual age so far. I am mentally preparing for the feeding frenzy of the 3 month spurt!

Thanks ladies He's 7 weeks adjusted, so it makes sense.  He went through a crazy spurt last week eating no less than 5oz each feed (probably his 6 week spurt), that lasted 3 days now he's down to about 4oz each time, but he's eating much more than he was 3 weeks ago!
