(Background for those that don't know - my daughter is in a body cast, and instead of using pull ups or another kind of disposable over the cast, we've been using BGs and FBs pockets without inserts over the cast and washing them with her clothing.)
Okay - so now I know i was a dumbass, and by washing some of her pocket covers in the regular wash, I probably delaminated them due to using ecover fabric softener.
I turned them all inside out and didn't see any areas of unevenness or bubbling, so I assumed that I dodged a bullet and that my pockets were fine. Until today, when she had a poop blow out and it leaked onto the cover... and through the cover. And in that spot - the inside of the pocket still looks fine. But I have to assume it's delaminated.
So, my questions:
Is there anyway I can test the rest of my pockets to see if they're delaminated before actually putting them back on her, since looking at them is not helping me. This diaper in question looked absolutely fine.
Is there anyway to RElaminate my pockets? Haven't I read something about putting them in the dryer?
I'm so mad at myself. If I ruined all of my pockets, I'll scream.
Re: delaminating questions
they don't sound delaminated to me, if they were you'd be able to see it (the lamination would be seperating from the rest of the fabric.
honestly it probably leaked because there are no inserts inside the diaper, with nothing to absorb any liquid you're going to get leaks.
also, even if they do delaminate, as long as you don't tear a hole in the lamination they'll still work the same.
