Hey, posted this on another board, but this might be the right place to start out. Like mentioned below, there is a LOT of information on this site!
Hi Everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. I got to spend some time with my family which is always wonderful. So I guess I should tell you a little about myself.
I'm 28, will be 29 in August. Married almost 3 years to an amazing man, and have a cat. We recently decided to start the TTC journey once this cycle of birth control is over. I have 60 days to go, then my doctor told me to wait until after I have a really heavy AF.
Hopefully we'll start trying this fall. WOO! I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone on the boards, supporting others and being supported. Any suggestions on where to go to get started on thebump? At this point, I think I'm really interested in nutrition, prenatal vitamins, things first time parents need to know and prepare for, and definitely how to pick the right OB. (Maybe these are all things I should be asking my OB?) I feel very excited right now and I'm looking forward to all of the things there are to learn.
Talk to you soon! Em
Re: New Here
Welcome.
Check out FertilityFriend.com and read the tutorials. If you'd like additional information, pick up a copy of TCOYF.
As for nutrition, the most important thing is to start taking a prenatal vitamin. Any kind will do, you don't need a Rx. The important part of it is the PRE-natal part. Taking it before you become pregnant is the key - not starting after the BFP. Eating a healthy diet can only help you, and some recommend cutting back on alcohol and caffeine if you drink these at a higher than average rate. Obviously if you're smoking you'll want to put down the pack of cigs / crack pipe, etc. (joke)
I don't know that you need to change Drs yet, but let your current PCP know what your plans are and see what they say. If you haven't been to a dentist lately, make that appointment too - a lot of dental work shouldn't be done while pregnant, and some studies have shown a correlation between gingivitis and still birth.
As for what boards to check out, try Trying To Get Pregnant.
Welcome and GL!
