Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Formula

My DD decided this weekend was a good time to drop a bottle.  She is now taking 2/ 5 oz bottles and 1 6 oz bottle.  How much formula is a 10 almost 11 month old to be taking?  We are working our way up to finger foods but she still takes baby food.  We stopped giving her cereal for breakfast and now give her yogurt, fruit puree and pancakes, eggs or french toast.  What kinds of finger foods are you all giving your LO's.  She can't always eat what we are eating and only has two teeth...unless I am being paranoid or what, I don't know.

Re: Formula

  • We are one month behind you. My LO takes 3-6 oz bottles daily. In addition, he eats 3 meals and the occasional snack daily. Remember that a baby can chew with their gums, teeth aren't always needed. Breakfast around here is about the same. Lunch and dinner is usually what we are eating. All soft fruits and veggies work well. We also give him small pieces of pork, chicken, soft beef and what ever else meats. He loves jelly toast, vianna sausages, pasta, and potatoes. We also use the baby puffs and crunches as snacks. Good luck.

  • Now DD doesn't even let me know if she's hungry.  She use to kind of mush her lips together.  We just try to read her and if we are out be prepared.  We gave her watermelon last night and she did good.  I am going to keep baby food around until I know she will eat some more things.  I tried Mac & Cheese the other day to but she wouldn't eat to much.  I think a lot of it like with the puree's is just trial and error.  I always have potatoes around so I can do a mash potato for her too.  She just doesn't like picking stuff up as much if it's to small so we end up trying to feed it to her too.
