TMI problem.....

To most of you it's not a tmi thing - a lot of you know my ass issues WHICH before were just tearing.  I just went and there was blood.  A lot.  I know the water makes it seem like there's more than there is but the thing is there was blood in it, not on it, and I didn't tear.  Or at least it really did not feel that way - it was easy going if you KWIM. 

I called the doc for a lab kit and will pick up later today and already am scheduled to see the gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy.  I'm a little overdue but still figured it would just be routine.  And may still be.  But there is a history of  colon cancer in my family.

I'm very nervous.  Just had to get that off my chest.

My mom's first indication of her colon cancer was blood in her stool. She got it very early and didn't even need chemo or radiation.

A colonoscopy is an excellent idea. I hope it's just a ruptured hemorrhoid or something.

Me too because I feel absolutely nothing but normal.

dark or light blood?  I have hear that bright red blood is likely anal fissures/hemorrhoids where as dark blood might be more serious (intestinal and so not oxidized).

 Hope you get some answers soon.

Bright red usually means an internal hemorrhoid that you probably didn't even know was there.

Dumb question but are you sure it was blood?  Yes, that sounds silly but if you eat beets and sometimes red velvet cake it can turn your poop red and make you think that it's blood.  I'm a well educated girl and found this out first hand when I freaked out over blood in the pot.
