Anyone have less movement after running?

I know there's nothing I can do so why post, but I couldn't help myself.  I ran (jogged) a 5K this morning at a slow pace, kept my breathing steady but did get pretty warm.  All that to say I've felt my little guy move some today but nothing like he normally does.  He's usually all Tae-Bo in there but all day today only occasional little flutters.  Anyone else experience this as something temporary?

Can't help from worrying...especially if it's something I did.  Sad

  • Maybe he was jostled so much while you were running that now he's just taking it easy. You could drink some juice to get a little sugar in and see if the baby will move. I ran with both pregnancies and it was fine.

Thank you!  I'm going to try some juice.  I'm always worried if I pushed it too hard when I run.  I've always gotten super red in the face and it's difficult to not breathe heavy just walking up stairs.  I'm believing everything is fine, but I sure would love a few karate chops to confirm it!

  • Mine ALWAYS goes to sleep during my runs.  Usually movement starts up again when I sit down for breakfast.

This!  I think the movement soothes her to sleep.  She doesn't typically perk back up until I have a meal.

    No need to worry :)

  • I've definitely experienced him put to sleep from running.  What was different about this was that he went from kickboxing me to almost no movement in the 48 hours post run.  That was what had me concerned.

Update: just back from seeing my midwife, heartbeat strong, she demonstrated how the run probably put him in a backward facing position and since there are fewer nerves in that area it was more difficult for me to feel his movements.

Then I had a happy jog back home! :)

  • I'm glad to hear everything is okay.

I usually don't feel any movement during and just after a hard workout, but he'll start up again a couple hours after I'm done, typically when I'm sitting down to a meal and am relaxed. I think it's normal for them to either be lulled to sleep or take a rest after the jostling of the workout. :)
