We used disposable diapers for the first 2 months, and had our fair share of minor blowouts, nothing major. H has been in cloth since about 2.5 months old. We're leaving for my parents' house in WI today, so she's in a disposable for the trip. The Husband parks her in her favorite corner of the couch while he's eating breakfast, and what happens? Major blowout. All over her footie pajamas (the cutest ones that I picked out for the plane trip!), and all over the couch cushion.
To be fair, we call her little corner on the couch "the poopin' spot," so he probably should have predicted what would happen, but in her cloth diapers, she has literally NEVER had a blowout!
Now I'm sitting around waiting for the laundry to finish because there's no way I'm leaving poopy laundry to sit in the house for a week...
Re: This is why we CD at our house!
We took disposables on our 1st out of town trip because we weren't sure how to do CDing in a hotel. That was the last time we used disposables, and we've gone on three trips since then. I feel like I do more laundry when he is in disposables because he goes through clothes so quickly.
Have a great trip!
SO true! What I do in laundry for CDs, I make up for in having to wash fewer outfits. (although now his poop is "ploppable" so we're past the blowout stage, but still. The difference was astounding.)
Have a good trip!
